Town of Kent

Kent Recycling Center is a volunteer-run institution, and the envy of other Putnam towns.

Nearly half of the Town of Kent’s 43 square miles is open space, and remains accessible for hiking, fishing, boating, and hunting. As of 2019, its population was 13,246.

The town is governed by a Town Board made up of its Supervisor and four Council members. Sustainable Putnam applauds Kent’s participation in the NYS Climate Smart Community program (website coming soon).
