Empowering Communities

Support Our Community’s Sustainability Mission

At Sustainable Putnam, we take pride in our all-volunteer team that tirelessly works to enhance our community’s sustainability efforts. From hosting Repair Café events that promote resourcefulness and reduce waste to organizing Home Energy Clinics that help residents lower their energy bills, our initiatives are designed to empower individuals and families. However, these valuable programs require financial backing to ensure their continuation, and that’s where your generous contributions come into play.

We don’t have a big budget. But every dollar you donate goes straight into our out-sized impact. We have no paid staff and no office. Our costs are low. But our impact is great. Here’s an example:

In the past year, we’ve helped homeowners to complete projects including

  • Solar panel installation
  • Heat pump installations
  • Insulation and weatherstripping projects
  • Heat Pump Hot Water Heater installations
  • Used and New Electric Vehicle purchases
  • Home EV charger installation

And we do so much more. Here’s a quick list of the programs, projects, and events we’ve also worked on during the past year:

  • Repair Cafés
  • Home Energy Clinics
  • Summer Solstice Celebration
  • Community Compost Initiative (aka “Food Scrap Recycling”)
  • Clean Energy Consultations
  • Community Solar
  • Green Drinks Gatherings
  • Advising the Climate Smart Task Forces of Kent, Phillipstown, and Putnam County
  • Home Weatherization Workshops
